Diesel prices rise in February: common diesel up 4.65% and S-10 up 4.60%, says Edenred Ticket Log

According to the latest analysis of the Edenred Ticket Log Price Index (IPTL), a survey that consolidates the price behavior of transactions at gas stations, providing a precise average, regular diesel in the country had an average price of R$6.52 in February, registering an increase of 4.65% compared to the average of the immediately previous month. The S-10 type registered an average price of R$6.60 in the second month of 2025, after an increase of 4.60% in the same comparison.

“The increase in regular diesel and S-10 in February was already expected after the adjustment of the ICMS (Tax on Circulation of Goods and Services), which came into effect at the beginning of the month. External factors, such as the appreciation of oil and exchange rate instability, have also been putting pressure on fuel costs, directly impacting the final price to the consumer since December. Regionally, both types of diesel also saw increases in all regions of Brazil in February compared to January,” says Douglas Pina, General Director of Mobility at Edenred Brasil.

The highest regional increases recorded for the average prices of both types of diesel in February compared to January were in the South, at 4.96% for regular diesel and 5.07% for S-10. Although the South recorded the highest increases, the region also had the lowest fuel prices in the country, trading at R$6.35 (regular diesel) and R$6.43 (S-10 diesel).

The highest prices for regular diesel and S-10 in the country in February were recorded in the North, where they cost, on average, R$7.08, after a 3.81% increase, and R$6.91, after a 3.75% increase, respectively.

In the survey by state, IPTL found that the highest average for regular diesel in January was recorded in Acre, at R$7.79, after an increase of 1.96% compared to January. Rio Grande do Sul appears as the state where drivers found the cheapest diesel in February: at R$6.32, after an increase of 4.64% compared to January.

The state that recorded the highest increase in the average price of regular diesel was Rondônia, where it was traded at R$7.37, after an increase of 9.35% compared to January. Bahia was the only state in the country to show a drop in the price of regular diesel in the comparison, of 0.16%, recording an average price of R$6.44 in February.

Regarding S-10 diesel, the highest average price recorded in February was also in Acre: R$7.81, after an increase of 3.03% compared to January. The lowest average price in February was recorded in the state of Rio Grande do Sul: R$6.40, although the value represents an increase of 4.58% compared to January. The highest increase in S-10 diesel in February, of 7.26%, was observed in the Federal District, where the fuel began to be sold for R$6.80. No state reported a drop in S-10 during the period. The IPTL is a fuel price index calculated based on fueling carried out at 21 thousand accredited Edenred Ticket Log stations, with a robust data science structure that consolidates the price behavior of transactions at the stations, providing an accurate average that is highly reliable due to the number of vehicles managed by the brand: more than 1 million, with an average of eight transactions per second.
