After retreating in recent trading sessions, corn opens Wednesday with highs in Chicago
Wednesday (09) began with corn futures trading in the positive range on the Brazilian Stock Exchange (B3). The main quotes fluctuated between R$67.98 and R$72.66 at around 10:07 am (Brasília time).
November/24 was quoted at R$67.98, up 0.32%, January/25 was worth R$71.45, up 0.22% and March/25 was trading at R$72.66, up 0.35%.
Foreign market
The Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CBOT) also opened this Wednesday's trading session with positive movements for international corn futures prices, which were advancing at around 09:44 (Brasília time).
December/24 was quoted at US$ 4.22, up 2.00 points, March/25 at US$ 4.40, up 2.00 points, May/25 at US$ 4.49, up 2.00 points and July/25 at US$ 4.55, up 2.00 points.
According to the international website Farm Futures, corn futures managed to jump slightly overnight after falling on Tuesday for the third time in the last four sessions.
“US farmers are expected to harvest 15.155 billion bushels of corn at an average yield of 183.4 bushels per acre, based on a Reuters poll of analysts ahead of Friday's report. In September, the USDA forecast the crop at 15.186 billion bushels and an average yield of 183.6 bushels per acre,” points out Farm Futures analyst Bruce Blythe.
