Sugar futures test gains on Wednesday morning (23) in NY and London
Sugar futures prices opened Wednesday's session (23) with slight gains on the New York and London stock exchanges. As a result, prices recovered part of the losses from the last session. The sweetener has been experiencing considerable volatility in recent days. According to Marcelo Filho, market intelligence analyst at Stonex, the market has been testing support and resistance values, which is why it has fluctuated recently.
In New York, at around 8:50 am (Brasília time), March/25 rose 0.62 cents, trading at 22.35 cents/lbp. May/25 advanced 0.46 cents, trading at 20.59 cents/lbp. July/25 gained 0.34 cents, trading at 19.66 cents/lbp, while October/25 rose 0.29 cents, trading at 19.40 cents/lbp.
On the London Stock Exchange, December/24 rose US$ 12.90, being quoted at US$ 574.10 per ton. March/25 gained US$ 14.50, trading at US$ 581.50 per ton. May/25 recorded an advance of US$ 11.50, quoted at US$ 570.70 per ton, while August/25 increased significantly, with a rise of US$ 8.80, quoted at US$ 551.70 per ton.
