Soybeans have a positive start to the week, testing highs on the Chicago Stock Exchange on Monday
Soybean prices are rising to start the week on the Chicago Stock Exchange. On Monday (11), at around 6 am (Brasília time), the prices of the oilseed rose by 7.50 to 8.50 points in the most traded contracts, with January being quoted at US$ 10.38 and May at US$ 10.64 per bushel.
In addition to the grain futures, the prices of bran are also rising - more than 1.5% - helping to support the CBOT on Monday. Oil was also working on the positive side of the table, however, with modest gains among the main positions, still in a very positive fundamental scenario.
The market still seems to be digesting the latest figures released by the USDA (United States Department of Agriculture) last Friday (8) in a bullish report for soybeans, however, still dividing its attention with the financial market and with already known fundamentals.
"Analyzing the soybean market from a fundamental perspective in the medium and long term, CBOT prices are bearish when considering global supply and demand," says Ginaldo Sousa, CEO of Labhoro Group. "Although China has been in the market for the last 30 days, it continues to practice its rational and seasonal side and has been buying American soybeans for shipment between October 15 and January, taking advantage of the harvest period, where premiums are literally lower than those in Brazil," he adds.
