Egg exports up 22.1% to 2357 tons in January
Brazilian exports of fresh and processed eggs reached 2,357 tons in January, an increase of 22.1% compared to the same month in 2024, when 1,931 tons were shipped, according to data released this Tuesday by the Brazilian Animal Protein Association (ABPA) in a note.
Revenue from exports grew 22.8%, to US$ 4.186 million, in the first month of 2025, compared to US$ 3.408 million in January last year.
Among the main destinations for Brazilian egg exports, the United Arab Emirates stands out, purchasing 783 tons, a drop of 22% compared to the previous year. However, other markets saw significant growth. Sierra Leone, for example, increased its purchases by 583%, to 352 tons.
The United States increased its purchases by 33%, to 220 tons. Japan and Mexico complete the list of main destinations, with 205 tons and 172 tons, respectively.
ABPA president Ricardo Santin commented on the sector's performance, highlighting the resumption of imports by the United Arab Emirates in recent months. He also emphasized the importance of the recent opening of the Mexican market and the growing demand from Sierra Leone. "These are markets that should continue to demand throughout this year," said Santin in the note.
