Soybeans continue a quiet week with few variations on the Chicago Stock Exchange on Wednesday

The soybean market continues its week of calm on the Chicago Stock Exchange, with modest variations being recorded on the morning of this Wednesday (19). At around 7:20 am (Brasília time), the market was down 0.50 points in the May and July contracts, with the maturities worth, respectively, US$ 10.12 and US$ 10.26 per bushel, while August rose 0.25 points to US$ 10.23. Traders continue to act on news they already know, waiting for updates, especially information that may clarify the real path that the tariff war will take, with special attention on relations between China and the United States. So far, the conflict has not yet brought repercussions that were not expected by the market, but has only confirmed what has been said by Donald Trump and expected by the Chinese over the last few months. Demand for soybeans, mainly from China, remains concentrated in Brazil, which keeps premiums high in the domestic market, and some pressure is still being felt by prices on the CBOT.

At the same time, the market is awaiting the first official planting intentions for the 2025/26 crop, which will be released by the USDA (United States Department of Agriculture) at the end of this month, with an eye on the weather conditions in the Corn Belt. Until then, the completion of the 2024/25 crop remains on the radar of agents.
