Soybeans rise slightly in Chicago on Friday, ending a volatile and intense week with caution
After an intense and very volatile week, on Friday (15), soybean prices traded on the Chicago Stock Exchange showed more restrained movements and remained stable, with slight gains. Prices rose between 3.25 and 4 points in the main maturities, around 7:05 a.m. (Brasília time), bringing November to US$ 10.32 and January to US$ 10.51 per bushel.
The market is ending the week cautiously, awaiting more updated information. The main point of pressure or limitation on the rise in soybean futures, at least for now, is China's continued absence from purchases in the United States.
This week, data reported by the USDA (United States Department of Agriculture) on export sales fell short of expectations and were negative for the old crop. In addition, in its monthly supply and demand report, the agency also revised downward its estimate for US oilseed exports in the 2025/26 harvest.
Thus, traders remain attentive to this scenario, while still monitoring the conclusion of the development of the new US harvest, the macroeconomy, and the geopolitical situation, which is still quite unclear.
